Hello there partners,

This is our first, irregularly scheduled, newsletter for partners. We're launching this newsletter to keep our external partners and persons of interest up to date with our activities.

If you are receiving this newsletter, you had either signed up for updates through our website (thank you!) or have been in contact with a member of MES management team for future work and opportunities.

MES Activities

As a fully volunteer-driven professional association committed to building the capacity for evaluation in the country, MES at the moment is focusing more on advocacy and promotion of evaluation topics. While we're looking to explore ways for our society volunteers to contribute meaningfully, peer learning is identified as one of the ways that MES can do for the moment for its members and others from other Voluntary Organisations for Professional Evaluation (VOPEs) as well as others with work related to evaluation.

With this in mind, we brought back our EvalTalk series, an ongoing public forum featuring evaluation experts and practitioners.

Our first session in early September was on Evaluation & Budgeting, and you can find more details in our event page here, including the session recording.

And now it's time for the next EvalTalk. The details are as follows:
EvalTalk: "Key Performance Indicators: Realistic Solution or Unnecessary Distraction for Results Management?"
Sunday, 3 October 2021
Time: 5pm (MYS UTC+8)
Registration link: https://bit.ly/3kw5Yt2

Moderated by Dr Hari Ramalu Ragavan, the panelists are:
  1. Scott Bayley – International Evaluation Consultant; former Principal Consultant for Monitoring & Evaluation & Learning at Oxford Policy Management
(OPM) for the Asia Pacific region
  2. Prasantha Abeykoon – Integrated Results Based Management/Monitoring & Evaluation specialist
  3. Nurshafenath Shaharuddin – Former Monitoring & Evaluation Officer with UNDP Malaysia, and current President of MES.
More details on the session including expected takeaways can be found here on the event page.
