IDRC partners with the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) to support scholars in tackling barriers to inclusive development in Asia

Despite a fast economic growth record in Asia, the benefits have not trickled down to all segments of society. Rigorous, applied, policy-relevant research is needed, and so are young researchers who can study the links between growth and the economic and social policies that could support a more inclusive pattern of development in Asia.

To that effect, the IGIDR is running a capacity building program in inclusive development with a special focus on the labour market and industrial policy. As part of this initiative and with funding from IDRC, the following scholarships are available to students who are citizens of the following Asian countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.
