APEA Evaluation Conference 2016

The APEA Evaluation Conference (APEAConf2016) held on 21-22 November 2016 was followed by 2 days of post-conference workshops and focused on how evaluation could support the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  Day 5 of the Conference was dedicated to a high level policy seminar among parliamentarians and key policy makers from various countries to discuss overcoming current challenges surrounding SDGs and Evaluation.  More than 170 participants from over 30 countries attended the APEA Evaluation Conference representing parliamentarians, development partners, experts and young evaluators.


Following the 2-day core conference, MES Members participated in the Pacific Regional Consultation on Equity Focused & Gender Responsive National Evaluation Policies and Systems Forum. Day 5 of the Conference featured a special event called The Great Evaluation Debate .   Parliamentarians, senior government officials, NGOs, academics, private sector and development partners critically debated a list of great challenges related to evaluation and the SDGs.
