Evaluation Conferences
The MES has been holding its' International Conferences on a biennial basis since 2004. The first conference was held in 1997 when the per-MES group decided to run a special conference to create awareness on evaluation and performance management in the public sector. Since then, the MES has successfully held 3 major conferences in Kuala Lumpur. These conferences have emerged as one the premier evaluation events in the region and provides in-depth coverage of cutting-edge technical and policy issues facing practitioners, researchers, academia, and other professionals in the area of evaluation and performance management.
The MES conferences typically attract a large number of national and international participants, experts and world-class presenters. One of the greatest strengths of the MES Conferences is that it brings together a network of monitoring and evaluation practitioners from around the world. The Conferences provide an excellent avenue for sharing of experience and knowledge on best practices, systems, evaluation tools and processes, and other topics that impact evaluation professionals. MES Conferences provide an extraordinary opportunity to network with peers and discover current practices, trends, and developments in the field, including how other countries are dealing with their development challenges.
Over the years, the MES Conferences have attracted increasingly higher quality and numbers of attendees and papers. Average attendance at each conference is about 200 participants. MES also hopes to organise an annual national conference or seminar on evaluation which will not only benefit participants on current topical discussions but also provide further opportunities to network and share experiences with some of the leading national and international experts in evaluation.
